How To Get The Perfect Pout Naturally

How To Get The Perfect Pout Naturally

Achieving the perfect pout doesn’t have to be difficult or rely on heavy makeup. With just a few simple steps, you can naturally enhance the beauty of your lips, keeping them smooth, hydrated, and perfectly plump. From daily moisturisation to exfoliation and the right lip balm, this guide will help you maintain soft, supple lips all year round without the need for harsh chemicals or treatments. Let’s dive into the secrets of a naturally flawless pout!

1. Moisturise Daily

We are all users of moisturiser; whether it's for our hands, body or face, so why would we miss out the lips? They need help sometimes to stay hydrated and smooth, working hard all day, everyday, especially during the cold winter months. So if you don’t already, make sure you start moisturising everyday for super smooth, hydrated lips.

2. Exfoliate

For an extra smooth base, occasionally try to lightly exfoliate your lips. This will clear away any dead skin and help you to avoid chapped, flaky lips in the long run (but and be sure to moisturise after you exfoliate to restore moisture for a 'pucka' pout).

[Top Tip – Make your own exfoliator at home: Simply mix together two teaspoons of sugar with a teaspoon of olive oil and half a teaspoon of honey, apply to the lips in circular motions, (some people like to use cotton buds or even a soft toothbrush to exfoliate), rinse off and then apply a moisturising lip balm of your choice].

3. Lip Balm: A lips' best friend

Allow an application of lip balm to be absorbed before you apply your make-up, this last minute hydration will mean your colour will last longer and your lips will still look luscious at the end of the evening.

We recommend Éminence Citrus Lip Balm to help prevent sore, cracked lips with its refreshing citrus and nourishing Shea butter formula. Packed with vitamin C, it soothes sensitive skin and helps prevent irritation. This lip balm is part of an effective, chemical-free skincare range, made with all-natural ingredients and is completely petroleum-free.

4. Lay the foundations...

When you are applying your make-up/foundation make sure you cover your lips too, a liquid foundation makes for the perfect base for your lipstick, helping to lock in the colour for longer; and is the perfect blank canvas for your chosen colour.

5. Line them up...

Probably not for daily use, but perfect for a night out - use a neutral/nude lip pencil to line and fill the lips; this will help to maintain a strong lip colour and you can expect longer lasting coverage. (If you have smaller/thin lips, a pencil can offer definition and help make them look fuller).

6. Remove your make-up

At the end of the night be sure to remove your make-up properly; don’t leave your lipstick on until the morning, unless you wish for a super parched pout. Use a gentle make-up remover, followed by a moisturiser, your lips really will appreciate it.
